What we collect, why, where it’s kept, who sees it, and how to get it back or delete it.
Who we are
AuditYourHome is operated by Click Shift Marketing, Wakefield, Quebec. The person in charge of protecting personal information is Dave Bussell, owner: dave@clickshift.ca. Write to him for any question, request or complaint about your information.
The planner and calculators
The home energy planner and the calculators run in your browser. Postal codes, bills and answers you enter are worked out on your device and aren’t sent to us. Your answers stay in your browser: the planners keep them in the part of the page address after the “#” sign, which browsers don’t send to our servers, and our page-view analytics don’t receive them. They’re shared only if you copy the link to your plan and send it to someone yourself.
Requests and questions
If you send us a request through a form on this site, or by email, to be matched, we use your details to connect you with one licensed service organization or contractor serving your area, and for no other purpose. Participating companies pay us a referral fee for these introductions; you pay nothing. We don’t sell contact lists, and we never share your request with more than one company. Heat pump quote requests and general questions are answered by email by us.
Our US site, audityourhome.com, has its own privacy page.
Forms are handled by Netlify, the company that hosts this site. It stores what you submit in the United States and emails it to us, and we keep it only as long as we need to deal with your request. If you email us, we have your email address; we use it to reply.
Analytics
On public pages we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages are useful and where people get stuck. They set cookies and record how pages are used; Clarity can replay a visit, with what you type in our forms hidden. Neither receives your planner answers, and neither runs on account pages. You can block them with your browser’s privacy settings or an ad blocker; the site works the same.
Cookies we set ourselves
One: a cookie that remembers that you chose this site over our US one, so we stop suggesting the switch. It holds no personal information and expires after a year.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, correct it, get a copy in a common format, or have it deleted. You can withdraw consent at any time. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
How long we keep it
Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to deal with them.
